Marcus Tavernier Signs Pro Deal At Boro

Boro are delighted to announce that Marcus Tavernier has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The 17-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal, with the club holding the option to extend to a third year.

The midfielder, younger brother of Rangers defender James Tavernier, was an important part of the Boro team that reached the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League, the Champions League equivalent for Academy football, last season.

Now a regular for Paul Jenkins’ U23 team, Tavernier scored a fine individual goal in Tuesday’s match against Cambridge United’s senior side in the Checkatrade Trophy.
